I know this because our receipt said 12:17. It took twenty-three minutes for our order to be entered. I waited patiently while they (our initial server and a person I think was the shift manager) worked on their computer system to enter our order. They are obviously not prepared to accept. Plenty of time to eat and get to our 1:00 PM appointment fifteen minutes down the road. My wife and I arrived at 11:55 AM on a Thursday with a Groupon coupon in hand. You would have thought she would have given me the coupon sheet to get me to be a repeat customer, but that didn't happen. The other small thing was the cashier had coupons sitting right there in front of her (but not accessible to me). One of the other customers in there thought it was too sweet. I actually went into the women's bathroom and poured it out. A few of the seats have seen better days, but most of the seating is quite nice and comfortable. I am not sure if they share the oil with the fish or not, but that is how it tasted. The french fries had a bizarre taste to them. The food was all piping hot - almost too hot. I brought a book, so it didn't seem that long. I ordered the 2 piece catfish, fries, and green beans. The gal at the front counter was taking orders for the drive-through as well, so it wasn't clear when she was finished with the other order. I am waffling between a 3 and a 4 for this restaurant. Bravo' Charles! Despite being a one man band, he managed to get my order out in pretty much the same time as a fully staffed shift so I was only there to see a few minutes of his juggling act, but that was enough to make me want to write this whole review in the first place.Ĭaptain D's, whoever is tasked with reading these reviews, send word up the food chain that Charles needs a raise.Įveryone else, stop by, say hi to Charles, and don't forget to add a side order of cracklin'! More Help was on the way, but for the time being he was on his own! And let me tell you, he was rocking it. he was also still running the kitchen's food line!!! He was the only employee in the restaurant!! Turned out people had called in. then I realized he was also running the drive-thru, and answering the phones, and was still setting up the restaurant for the shift. Today was the first time I'd seen him running the front counter. The manager, I'm guessing? I'd seen Charles multiple times before but always he was back in the kitchen running the food line. Today when I went to indulge in my fried goodness weakness I was greeted by Charles. Most of the counter attendants recognize me and even remember to add an order of cracklin' if I forget. This particular D's is near my clark kent job so I grab a to-go lunch from them nearly every week. Obviously it tastes awesome for a fast food seafood restaurant or I wouldn't keep coming back so let's just get past the whole food bit, and get to the real heart of why this place rocks and why I'm writing this review. You know that what you're going to get will be exactly the same as before and the time before and the time be. Yeah, I know that's an odd title for a restaurant review, but let's face it, this is a fast food seafood restaurant.
